The Upper Iowa University is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Collegs and Schools. Business degrees at both the bachelor's and master's level offered through online programs are accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education. UIU was originally founded in 1857 in Fayette, Iowa and is a private not-for-profit learning center. In addition to its main Fayette campus, Upper Iowa University has international campuses in Canada, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
The online programs offered through Upper Iowa University are designed to provide flexible learning and scheduling for professionals and other mature students and recent undergraduates that would rather not attend traditional classroom courses on campus. The online programs are ideal for those that want to work while completing their degrees or prefer to study and learn at their own convenience rather than be restricted to schedules and class times. Faculty members are highly qualified to teach the various online programs, having a strong background in academics as well as experience in their fields. In most cases, the online classes will be taught by the same instructors that teach the on-campus classes, and most have doctoral or equivalent educational degrees. The instructors are recruited from international businesses, government agencies, and research facilities. Professors and students have access to each other through chat rooms, e-mail, and message boards. Instructors also keep regular online office hours that allow students and instructors to interact with each other over the computer in real-time for discussions, questions, and clarification.
